Wildlife watching can be very rewarding - puffins on island cliffs, the rare glimpse of a golden eagle circling overhead, red deer high in the mountains, the sight of osprey chicks in their nest, schools of dolphins or the odd Minke whale!

If you are keen on attending Highland Games, be sure to visit during the main summer months of June, July or August.
There are lots of arts and music festivals throughout the year, although of course the famous Edinburgh Festival is always held in August - so be sure to book early if you aim to visit then.
As part of the many Homecoming Scotland' events, 'The Gathering' will be a huge celebration of the clans in Edinburgh in July 2009. We are advising people to book their accommodation and tours now for this unique experience.
