Hello Marie Now that we’ve returned from our tour of Scotland we’d just like to tell you how much we enjoyed it and how impressed we were with the accommodation. All our B&Bs were exceptionally good, but for us the outstanding one was at Nairn (the new build). It was so spacious and so much attention to detail. We could not fault any of the hosts and we have generally enjoyed good hospitality, some very fine dining, and incredibly good weather! What with the stunning scenery as well I am sure we’ll be back before too long. Thank you also for all the very helpful information, which ensured we got the best out of our holiday. Best wishes, Frances and Brian

Marie & Elspeth, I am sorry I took so long to catch up after our trip, we both caught a cold from the nice folks on the plane home. I can't tell you how much you made our trip to Scotland a trip of a lifetime. I was so glad to meet you Marie! Where to start, the accomodations were perfect from start to finish, the tour map was invaulable and the food was wonderful! The navigator (that would be me) only made one wrong turn and it was beautiful. My favorite is very hard to pick, but the Deeside Lodge was so comfortable and so close to Drum Castle. I did not get to tell you, but I was able to sign the family guest book at Drum Castle, it really was wonderful and Mom was very excited. Enclosed is a picture of Stephen and I at Drum for fun. In Nairn we met so many nice people, including a retired couple in Nairn that grew up outside of town. The distillery tour that Ian set up was great fun, thank you so much for that extra. Stephen purchased a good bottle and it made it home to be saved for the holidays. The most fun was the bar that Ian and Alan recommended (the Mercat). It seems the co-owner is a friend of the owner of a local bar in our town and he played rugby at the University about 1 mile down the road. We stopped back in on the way home to exchange e-mails and Chris is coming for a vist over the holidays and we hope to catch up with him while he is in our town. There was a good bit of rain as we went to Fort William, so we will have to come back and stay there a bit longer, but as we drove through the pass of Glencoe the sun came out and it was magnificent. I could go on and on, but we can't say thank you enough! Please let me know if I can provide a recommendation to anyone. I will look forward until we can schedule another trip with you. Thank you both for making the trip wonderful. Kind regards, Susan

Marie, Thank You so much for your kindness. I've now had time to reflect on just how special our journey has been. Our total miles covered was 1740 many of which were planned by you and your staff. Our time together as a family of ten gave us an opportunity to become even closer to each other and enjoy experiences that were yes sad at times but at other times were down right hilarious all of which created memories that will last forever. We all enjoyed the diverse selection of accommodations that you arranged for us. From the formal dinners at our Skye hotel to the fun times at George and Dragon where we met some interesting characters to the majestic beauty of our hike to the Old Man of Storr and the scenic vistas of Loch Lomond we took it all in. The castle, where we had as a private house party, stands out as my favorite. Although we were there less than 24hrs. we took full advantage of what the estate had to offer. The staff treated us with wonderful Scottish hospitality and the dinner and breakfast were delicious. The highlight of the evening was a game of hide and seek in the castle.... limited to first floor only, we had fun trying to find my Dad eventually he was found to be fast asleep in bed. Thanks again for all you did for us. Sincerely, Jeffrey Klein USA

A few years ago we used you to tour Scotland. Do you have tours for Lakes Area of England? or any part of England?

Marie and Elspeth: We had a lovely time on our trip to Scotland, in July, as you might imagine! We felt very spoilt. Food was excellent at each of the 3 hotels you booked for us: near Fort William, Skye and Oban. Just the one ferry from Amandale on Skye to Mailaig was quite easy (reserved the day before). We loved the majesty of Glen Coe. Scottish Games in Taynuilt were very local, but special. Enjoyed the Cleidigh (sp?) in Oban. Well, the scenery everywhere is so wonderful. As much as we wouldn't want to be on a bus trip, there were times when we wished we weren't driving so much, as we fitted in a lot .) Thank you for the nice bookings. We're tempted to do a tour of France now!

Kiti & Andrew said at 18:29 on Saturday 28th of August 2010: Marie and team, thanks for helping us in planning and organizing our Scotland holiday in July. The trip was absolutely fantastic! Apart from lovely countryside views and sunny and warm weather, all the accommodation that you've helped us to choose made us feel like home. Most of all we enjoyed our stays in the castle and in the remote hotel near Poolewe, with absolutely marvelous cuisine and hospitable owners. We are already thinking of repeating our trip next year) Kiti Pantskhava and Andrei. Moscow.

Hi Marie & Elspeth, We are back in Australia and just wanted to thank you for your brilliant organisation which helped us enjoy an amazing stay in Scotland. All the accomodation was exceptional and the itinerary was brilliant. It seemed each place we stayed was better than it's predecessor and that's saying something. And we got the distinct impression that our bookings through you secured us the best welcome and the pick of the rooms. Please let all the proprietors know how much we appreciated our stays, and their world-beating breakfasts. Highlights were the Isle of Skye, the Highland Games at Morar, the drive to Ullapool through Torridon, the Salmon at the Falls of Shin, finding Ross Castle and the incredible Croik Church (where everyone in the graveyard was a "Ross"). Then there was Culloden, Buckie, the gorgeous Fordyce and its nearby coast and the beauty of Pitlochry. And then there was Edinburgh, the Tatoo and barely enough time for the Festival (what an event!). So thanks again. We'll be back- we have the McKay areas to see next time, and we'll book through SME again! Thanks again, Ian & Anne Ross.

Dr Stephen and Estelle Hyman said at 15:10 on Thursday 26th of August 2010:

Hi Marie, We are back home in New York and adjusting to the time changes. The trip went well and we enjoyed the beautiful countryside and the very friendly, helpful people. James Williamson was especially helpful and most patient with us. By giving us the opportunity to drive his car he surely enabled us to build our confidence. In retrospect we tried to cover too much area and the car travel from place to place left us feeling too rushed. Actually the driving itself was OK but I did have to concentrate on the roads and use Estelle as a narrator of the sights more than I would have liked. We had a flat tire on the one lane back road from Kylesku to Lochinver but we did get to Lochinver and were able to put on the spare. It was the day of the Highland Games there and everything was closed- even the police station, the garage, and the post office. A very helpful shop worker assisted us in changing the tire.It was a momentary distraction and we were able to buy a new tire in Ullapool, also with the help of some very considerate people. The accommodations at each place were really very comfortable. The highlight of the trip was Kinloch Lodge where the service and the surroundings were elegant and the inn keeper, Tom, was especially welcoming even though we arrived before check in time. The dinner meal was also a delightful experience. Cameron House was a disappointment to us. The room and the grounds were lovely but we had been accustomed to personalized service and the place is too large and varied to provide that. It is probably best for families as there are alot of child-centered activities but it was a stark change from the B&Bs and the intimate Kinloch Lodge. There are many time share families staying there and perhaps the hotel's emphasis is on that segment of travelers. We take home many pleasant memories of your countryside and your considerate kinsmen. Thank you for all of your help in arranging the trip and we hope to be in contact in the future. Best...Steve and Estelle

Hi Marie, Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you on our experience in Scotland. All your help with hotels & B&B’s was truly appreciated by all. Maggie is a joy of a person and made us feel at home in Edinburgh. The Inn after that was quaint and the food was excellent. My sister love wakening up to the sounds of the sheep in the fields. Our Nairn hotel was everything and more we were looking for on our Scotland vacation. We regret not having more time there. John and Ian were terrific and Sylvia’s abilities in the kitchen were outstanding. The food was the best of the trip. The B&B on Loch Ness was also quaint and the setting beautiful. The biggest disappointment was there was no view overlooking Loch Ness. There were so many trees that the view was totally block. John and Glen were very polite and served a great breakfast. The Loch Fyne Castle was a fun experience for all. The Edinburgh hotel was a good place to end the trip, except for all the construction in Edinburgh that made it very difficult to navigate with our car. The next time I would stay closer to the airport. All & all it was a wonderful trip for all of us. Thanks for all of your help in making this trip a life full of memories. Sue & Rich Watt . Chicago.
