Dear Marie, This is simply a short letter to let you know how much my wife (Dot) and I appreciated all you and Elspeth did in arranging our wonderful holiday in Scotland. Each of the places you booked us into was superb and the stay at the Kinlock Lodge was truly extraordinary. We felt like we really did get the opportunity to enjoy some of the very best of Scotland thanks to your help and suggestions. I do appreciate your having taken the time to come over and meet us at the Sunny Brae while we were at Nairn. We have been very fortunate in being able to travel somewhat frequently as well as live and work abroad on four different occasions. Our trip and vacation in Scotland certainly ranks up there with some of the very best holidays we have had. While Scotland is certainly beautiful, your assistance in helping us sort out how best to enjoy was crucial in making this holiday such a joy. When we return to Scotland, we will certainly ask for your help again. Sincerely, Bob

Dear Marie, Glad to hear that you’re back from your travels. We had a wonderful trip to the Scottish Islands and Highlands. The castle was our favourite as it rounded off the trip really well. The hosts were friendly, warm and fun and the other guests ( a honeymooning couple!) were delightful and didn’t mind us playing the piano, singing and beating them at all the games. We certainly enjoyed living like royalty! Our Lodge was also a winner. The rooms were lovely, the staff were friendly and the food was sensational. The B&Bs were of a high standard. The Fort William B&B was a good starter for us and got us into the holiday mood. The views from the house were lovely and the rooms were of a very high standard. The hosts were friendly and even sent on some clothes that we’d forgotten. Our Harris B&B was also lovely. The hosts were very friendly and we all ended up at a Ceilidh dancing the night away. The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t do as much walking/cycling as we hoped. The hosts even loaned us their golf clubs, but we were beaten by the weather. Scotland is very beautiful. The scenery is spectacular, the people warm and welcoming and lots of lovely places to visit. We packed in clay pigeon shooting, hill walking, beach combing, boat trips, quad biking, visits to castles and churches and best of all dolphin spotting. In Nairn we saw around five dolphins no more than 20 feet away from the beach– glorious. Thank you for all your help. Oh and by the way we found out that the Harris Clan were not from the Isle of Harris. They were part of the Campbell clan and mainly from the Isle of Bute. Another trip maybe..... Best wishes, Colleen

Dear Marie, Thank you for organising our Holiday in June. The accommodation was excellent as were our hosts. This was our first experience with B and B and we would certainly would stay in them again. Your service was excellent and helpful. Highlight for us was Glencoe, where we spent most of the day. We already miss scotland and will hopefully get back. It was lovely to meet you and THANKYOU for your help. Regards Antony and Allison Stewart(Sydney)

The weather was the worst I have ever experienced. Rained every day and was cold most of the entire 2 weeks except 1 sunny day. That said we made the best of everything. First and foremost, your planning of our trip was wonderful. The B & B’s were terrific and hospitality at each very generous. Like every trip I have a few above and beyond comments: Liz in Nairn was wonderful. The B & B was beautifully decorated. Liz did an amazing job. Her breakfasts were delicious. On the first night we had driven quite a long way from Skye and she realized Alice and I were quite ‘punchy’ from the road. She provided us with a lovely bottle of red wine and some snacks. What a nice treat! Liz is an amazing women. Her attention to detail in providing menus from 20 or more restaurants and sharing her recommendations was helpful but not in any way obligatory. She and her husband were most hospital. Liz is wonderful. I wish we could have had better weather and gone to the beach and enjoyed the area more, but the weather and our scheduled was aggressive. Our hostess in Paisley, our last night Francesca was amazing. What a truly gracious and lovely hostess. Her B & B and right now I can’t think of the name was absolutely beautiful. Francesca had loads of snacks provided and complimentary Sherry in Waterford decanters. We needed to be at the airport early but Francesca volunteered much to our delight to get up and prepare a breakfast for us at 6:00 in the AM. Amazing. She had an absolutely beautifully decorated home and she has a wonderful gift of being interested in her guests. These were the top two B & B’s. In all, the trip was very good except the weather which was so bad. But your maps and arrangements were most helpful. Please do share with the ladies our gratitude for the lovely memories. And please make them a top level recommendations to your customers. Final Note. Our B&B in Oban was lovely. The host, forgot her name a delight! She shared her dumpling cake recipe and made the most scrumptious breakfasts. Thank you so much. Judy Mackey. Worcester. MA, USA

Good morning Marie Glad your trip to Singapore was successful! Apologies for only writing this now, but I've been slightly inundated with work since I've been back. As for the trip to Scotland, I really want to thank you and Espleth for the wonderful work that you did in putting together my trip. The accommodations were truly top class! The rooms were luxuriously appointed and the owner of each establishment really went out of their way to make me feel welcome. A special thanks to Tim in Stirling, Barbara on Skye and Liz in Nairn for the extra effort on my behalf. The pace of the trip was also extremely well set out, and though I would certainly have wanted to spend more time in beautiful Scotland, I feel like I was able to see and discover an extensive part of the country in the time I was there. Your suggestions on the routes to follow, and the sites to visit were really helpful and allowed me to see parts of the country that I would likely have missed on my own. All in all it was a five star experience, and I won't hesitate to contact Scotland Made Easy for my second trip to Scotland, or my first trip to France! Thanks again for all your assistance, Marie. Kind Regards Esmarie Swanepoel

Dear Elspeth, We had a great time. Everyone kept apologizing for the weather. However, we got back to 105 here so we are already missing Scotland! In fact, we had rain in Lubbock - the first in months...Scotland must have been good luck!!!! The hotels were all great. The only negative I can mention is that the rooms at Mar Hall were actually hot. They were lovely in size and luxury. It would have been fine if you could open the window wider or if there was a fan. However, the radiator was on (which they kindly shut off) and with the big down comforter, the room was too warm for good sleeping. I cannot say the same for any other place we stayed. It was especailly lovely at the little Highland restaurant with rooms and to listen to the stream outside the window. Last time at Inverlochy, I had a lovely room, but certainly not the "grandness" of this visit. We changed plans and did not visit distilleries on our last day, but went to St. Andrew's instead. I loved the castle/cathedral ruins. My sister and brother-in-law's parish in Ft. Worth is St. Andrew's. So they were thrilled with the change in plans. We didn't find the travel hard. I guess if you grow up in Texas, the distances there seem quite short. After the first day, I got used to the left road driving. The roads are narrow and windey, but not too different from some of the mountain highways here. The only "problem" was the A9 is rather narrow for such a major roadway. However, we did fine. Thanks for all your help, Leigh Ann (Lubbock, Texas)

Marie & Elspeth, Helen and I have returned home from our journey and just about recovered from the jetlag. We had a wonderful trip in June and were thoroughly well looked after by all our hosts. Scotland is certainly a beautiful part of the world. Thank you for all your efforts on our behalf. Your advice (even the bits we chose not to accept) was spot on and ensured that the holiday was the best it could be. Thanks, John & Helen (Adamstown Heights, Australia)

Hi Marie and Elspeth, Well, we made it this time and had a wonderful holiday! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. The Bed & Breakfasts were all unique and delightful, with sweet and generous hosts and lovely, comfortable accommodations. I would give them all 5 stars and recommend to anyone. We toured 3 distilleries, had some great meals, saw Blair Castle & gardens, did some shopping. We did miss the Falkirk Wheel canal ride as they were having computer problems that day. We so enjoyed the mountains and pasture lands - what a beautiful country you have! Thank you again for all your hard work. I have your business card and will gladly share with anyone I can. It was a joy to meet you, Marie. Wishing you continued success, Marlene and Rick Rock USA
